CIBUBUR – Today we have a family gathering at Ayam Goreng Suharti Cibubur, hosted by my youngest sister, Chita and Bona. This event is also used for forgiving each other before we are entering the holy fasting Ramadhan 1434H next week.

JAKARTA – Took place at Britama Arena Sportmall Kelapa Gading, the Jakarta Islamic School (JISc) graduates their students from nursery, kindergarten, elementary school, secondary and high school today. In total, there are 300+ students that graduates this year. My eldest daughter Ingga graduates from secondary school (class 9) and continues her study to Nurul Fikri boarding school at Lembang, next semester. This event also intended for commemorating JISc 10th anniversary.

BEKASI – Uh, I almost forget, one of tennis grand slam has been started. Yes, now it’s a Wimbledon grand slam, one event that tennis fans may not miss. Lucky me, when I turn on the television, my favorite player Andy Murray is on his game against Benjamin Becker from Germany.

PUNCAK – Okay, it’s a school holiday season, that should be a reason for not going to Puncak. And the fact is, we need 5 hours to reach the resort yesterday and now we are still stuck in the middle of nowhere for almost 2.5 hours just to reach 10 km. My car’s MID (multi information display) shows the average speed is 4 km per hour with fuel consumption to 1.5 km per litre. Such a waste..

PUNCAK – We are a little bit too late to downhill to Jakarta, the road is already closed at 09.30AM. We have to wait until 11.30AM for a clearance and that’s disaster. To kill this two hours of waiting, I take my family to Gantole/Paralayang flight platform, near Puncak Pass. To entrance this place, we should pay Rp 5.000 per pax.
The kids are enjoying to see people fly with that parachute, that’s incredible sport I admitted. Wanna try? You can fly with the instructor and pay Rp 300.000 per flight. Someday I really want to try it 🙂

CIAWI – Usually, when we have a plan to spend a weekend in Puncak, we take along our sibling’s families. Unfortunately, they could not make it for this time occassion.
So, we let Ingga and Najah to take their friends to go along. Surprisingly, Ingga takes her 4 friends while Najah is only with her best friend. In other words, they take too many friends to go with.. 🙂
And here we are, fulfilling our car with 11 passengers, way too much over our car’s normal capacity. Alhamdulillaah it’s not a big deal for this big Japanese car. 🙂

JAKARTA – It’s been quite a long time since the last sun shines like this sunny morning. The sky is clear and blue, so much different with a few recent days. Don’t know what has gone wrong, it’s June right now but the rain is still fallen so often. Global warming effects?

JAKARTA – It’s been our habit, if we should take a lunch or dinner outside, to looking for halal cooking restaurant. Fortunately, in some countries the Halal sign has been a common thing, even in some European countries.
Like tonight, we take a dinner at Pho 24, a noodle restaurant from Vietnam, a country where Islam is a minority religion there. This restaurant has a MUI halal sign on the wall, ensures us to have a meal here.
And surprisingly, when I take their Hoisin sauce to be added into the noodles, I read the Halal sign from Vietnamese Islamic Community printed in the bottle. Alhamdulillaah, this is great, really makes me happy to dine in here, and looking forward to coming back again.

JAKARTA – Alhamdulillaah, my eldest daughter has accomplished her study in Junior High School of Jakarta Islamic School (JISc) with a very good result. And because today is her school graduation day, all the parents are invited to pose with their beloved children.
This is not the finish line. This is just the end of one chapter of my daughter’s life into the next step ahead. Her new school, SMA Boarding school Nurul Fikri Lembang has been waiting.
The journey continues..
